After School Drama Program

The Theatre Lab offers after-school drama classes for young people ages 9-14. Our after-school curriculum includes training in improvisation, scene study, comedy, playwriting, storytelling, puppetry and more. Each  six week session explores a different genre of theatre—e.g., African Folktales and Oral Traditions, Shakespeare, etc.—and culminates in a final performance of student work that is offered free to the public. 

This program is offered in partnership with KidPowerDC, a community youth organization that explores local history through academic, artistic, and civic engagement programs.
